In a recent radio interview with myself, Dr. Albert Murtha, who is Radiation Oncologist with the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton and Mark Schmidt, a graduate student in Computing Sciences at the University of Alberta, we discussed a breakthrough.
Specifically, the breakthrough is in mapping brain tumours using machine learning. Here's a snippet of the conversation:
"A computing science student working with the Alberta Ingenuity Centre for Machine Learning has a developed breakthrough computer program. This will greatly improve how oncologists target brain tumours for radiation treatment."
